Marie Montera
Marie Montera is a NYSID grad and an accomplished New York Interior Design professional with a passion for all things "Interior Design".
Her particular forte is FF&E. Marie's extensive diversified work experience in Textile Design, product development, fabric merchandising, high end furniture, lighting and accessory showroom sales has cultured and refined her discerning taste level and sourcing capability.
The designer's dual lifestyle is split between city and country. A native New Yorker, after graduating Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Illustration, Marie lived in Soho working as an illustrator and gallery artist specializing in capturing the action of thoroughbred racehorses, polo matches, marathon runners and skiers. Her love of nature, sports, and the outdoors led her to frequent weekend trips north to the country. Marie is an avid hiker, mountain biker, and enjoys kayaking, outdoor trail running, swimming and winter sports. She continued living in NYC as a Textile surface designer, later moving to the Hudson Valley where she currently resides.
Marie is a Contract Hospitality Project Manager working in NYC. Her Interior Design work is influenced and inspired by a mix of Design movements and American Modern iconic architects and designers, including Mid-Century Modern, The International Style, and the Glasgow School. The designer says she is very fortunate to live and work in both regions. She loves the contrast between urban and country styles, their landscapes, textures, colors, cultures, and the beat that constantly influences design trend and evolution in our world.
